Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (RNRU)

The Homerton's Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (RNRU) specialises in treating people with brain injuries.

The average stay on the unit is five months, so we aim to provide a range of extra services that can make a long-term stay in hospital more comfortable. Homerton Hope funds a Leisure Co-ordinator, for example (pictured right) who organises a range of activites for patients from outings to buy Christmas presents, to day-trips to galleries and museums.

We currently have exciting plans to redevelop the unit's only outdoor space - the RNRU courtyard, which our rehabilitation patients visit with their families. The area helps them to become reacquainted with various different surfaces and obstacles, and rebuild their confidence on their journey back to health.
